2023 REMET Art Prize

2023 REMET Art Prize

16 – 18 March, event Tuesday 16 March 4pm | All Welcome

The Department of Fine Art are pleased to announce the 2023 REMET Art Prize.

REMET UK offer Undergraduate Fine Art students at Kingston University a competition to create a small bronze object using their specialist ceramic shell casting process. REMET are ‘looking for innovation more than a beautiful final object’ and were interested in the way that Fine Art students would utilize their process.

Students were invited to submit a proposal for an object not more than six inches on its longest side. Over 30 entries were received from across the course from which six finalists were selected for their eclectic mix of styles and approaches. The selected students fabricated and cast their objects in the KU workshops.

The six finalists are:

Jalia Pud

Ella Price

Jessica Baker

Lydia Arney

Eli Knox

Ieuan James

The winner will be selected by Bob Brown, Jerry Hughes and Faith McKie and announced at the private view on Tuesday 16th May at 4pm.

With special thanks to AB Fine Art Foundry, Matt Day, Guillermo Rodriguez-Lopez and the Stanley Picker Gallery.
